Keeping the Ocean Green with LeesGreen’s Ballast Water Management System
LeesGreen Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) is a system whose aim is to kill pathogenic organisms in ship ballast water, thus protecting the oceanic marine environment and preventing sea pollution caused by such organisms.
LeesGreen BWMS meets perfectly the standards of Ballast Water Management Convention issued by the IMO (International Maritime Organization) in 2004 which will be entered into force as of Semptember 08 2017.
BWMS Means of Operation
The BWMS system uses an advanced automatically backwash filter, with medium – pressure UV radiation technology to accomplish the efficient online treatment of the ship’s ballast water. The process is straightforward, intuitive and reliable and can be divided into Local and Remote modes of operation.
The working data of the ballast system can be stored for further examination of the operation of the equipment in the ship’s navigation. The working operation record can be provided as needed according to the requirements of the inspection department.
LeesGreen BWMS offers simple operation and maintenance, dual – directional automatic control, friendly interface and easy manipulation. The capacity of the system range from 250 to 3000 m3/h, thus providing flexible and straightforward installation on small tonnage vessels. For large – tonnage vessels multiple units assembled installation is available. The system is also suitable for old ships with narrow space.
The filtration plus UV radiation method takes no additional contamination with no adding or reserving chemicals. The entire system is sealed in operation so there are no radiation hazards to the crew.
